Dudley Town beaten by Shifnal

              Midland Football League Premier Div⚽

Dudley Town 1  Shifnal Town 3

                                                                                Played at Guardian Warehousing Arena

Two goals⚽⚽ before the break left 'out of sorts' Dudley with a mountain to climb as Shifnal bossed the first session.

An extended half-time break was required due to the referee being injured.

A good talking to at the break had the required effect as the hosts  tore into the visitors and their pressure paid off on 55 minutes to reduce the arrears⚽.  Roles were now  reversed as it was Dudley in the ascendency and they were unlucky on a couple of occasions when striking the post and bar but just when it looked like they must score, the visitors broke at speed and put the game out of reach on 80 minutes⚽.

Fair play to Dudley, they gave it a right go after the break but Shifnal probably deserved the points for their first half display.

UttoxeterTown go nap

                Midland Football League Premier Div⚽

Wolves Casuals 2  Uttoxeter Town 5

A 'bad day at the office' for Casuals today as the visitors ran riot in the second period, yet the hosts could have been ahead as early as the first minute but had to settle for a corner. Town looked a stronger outfit as the first half progressed with Casuals doing more than their fair share of defending in restricting the visitors.

Casuals took the lead on 53 minutes with a superb strike from Wilson, giving the keeper no chance⚽. Little did we know what was coming ! Just three minutes later, Town were level⚽ ( no more than they deserved) and within 5 or 6 minutes they were ahead⚽ and just minutes later were awarded a penalty, duly despatched by number 10⚽. Casuals were now lying deeper and the visitors were taking full advantage, added a fourth very quickly⚽. The arrears were soon reduced as Casuals scored from a penalty⚽ but Town restored their 3 goal advantage late on⚽.

Dudley Town and AFC Wulfrunians put on a show !

                                  Midland Football League Premier Div

Dudley Town 3  AFC Wulfrunians 3

                                                                                              Played at Guardian Warehousing Arena

This game really woke up in the second half , the first half notable only for the penalty awarded to Town on 41 minutes despatched by Crook⚽ ; having said that, Town did hit the woodwork on 5 minutes with Wulfs doing the same on 33 minutes. Honours went to Town for their first half aggressive play with Wulfs taking until the 35th minute for their first goal attempt.

The visitors must have had a rocket in the break as they went on the front foot from the off and were rewarded with a goal direct from a corner by Maslen-Jones⚽. Two minutes later Wulfs took the lead via Munday⚽ who left the keeper no chance when rifling into the top rh corner. It was real end to end stuff now but the best was yet to come and on 68 minutes Maslen-Jones spotted the keeper way out of his area and shot from inside his own half to score a fantastic goal⚽ , David Beckam eat your heart out ! High- energy Town were not done with and were awarded a second penalty on 75 minutes, Crook again beating the keeper. Town were rewarded for the efforts well into added time with a diving header from Beddall⚽.

A really cracking second half from both sides and a fantastic advert for the grassroots game.

Tipton tip-top.

⚽West Midlands Regional League Div 1⚽

Tipton Town 4  Stourport Swifts Development 1

Tipton consolidated their position at the top with a convincing victory against spirited opponents.

The visitors were straight out of the traps, giving the hosts plenty to think about for the first quarter of the match but Tipton gradually took control and just before the break they deservedly opened the scoring through Clifton who was 'Johnny on the spot' to tap home⚽. As already stated, Swifts were'nt there to just make up the numbers, attacking with gusto and defending in numbers.

On the hour mark Town scored a second when Holder hit a 20 yard thunderbastard which was good enough to win any game, so credit to the visitors keeper for getting so  close to it⚽. Tipton were, by now, running the show and it was no surprise when they added a third on 75 minutes, Turner latching onto a ball over the top and ran on to beat the keeper⚽. Swifts were not done though and they were awarded a penalty soon after which was duly despatched⚽. The visitors seemed to gain a second wind late in the game but Town were in mood to give them anything and in the final minutes they added a fourth goal via Piggot⚽.

Commiserations to Swifts who gave a good showing but tp be honest, they were overpowered by the better side on the day.
