Khalsa take the points

Total Motion Midland Football League  Premier Division

Sporting Khalsa 3  Heanor Town 2(played at The CKW Stadium)

Prior to the start, we were informed this was the visitors' fifth game in seven days. What a ridiculous state of affairs ! Our guess was no matter the quality of the visitors, tired legs were bound to have a bearing on the final result. The first 30 minutes was fairly even with the visitors possibly having an edge and playing some very pleasing to the eye football.Somewhat against the run of play Khalsa took the lead on 35 minutes via a penalty but the visitors stuck to their game and in the 44th minute gained just reward for their endeavours when they too were awarded a penalty which was duly despatched. Two minutes later Khalsa regained the lead following a mix-up between defender and keeper.

As we expected ,there was a marked slowing in the visitors game after the break and it was now the hosts enjoying the majority of possession. On 80 minutes Khalsa increased their lead when they were awarded a second penalty and that seemed to be game over; only it wasn't as Heanor smashed in a second but alas for them, the referee blew for time.

An excellent game all round, we thoroughly enjoyed it.

South Normanton Athletic well up for it.

AFC Wulfrunians 0  South Normanton Athletic 3

Following the crap weather we've experienced, today was a brilliant day for watching football.Warm and sunny at last ! It certainly seemed to suit the visitors who waltzed away with the points on what can only be described as 'a bad day at the office' for the home side who were well beaten. SNA were better in all departments being stronger in defence and quicker on the offence and were unlucky to still be level at the break. That, however was soon put to rights 6 minutes after the restart when King rounded the home keeper to score.Twenty minutes later Marcus Tudgay increased their lead from the spot and Wulfs' miserable afternoon was complete on 77 minutes  when Lewis added a third. Judging on this performance, the seasons' end cannot come soon enough for the home side but credit to the visitors for a forceful display.

Final note (Not a criticism but an observation) ; The whole proceedings were not in any way helped by a whistle-happy referee; hence his low mark.

Cradley on top

West Midlands Regional League Premier Division

Wolverhampton Casuals 1   Cradley Town 3

What a brilliant advert for the WMRL; two fully committed teams going at it hammer and tongs for 90 minutes. You don't get the PL flashness; the silly haircuts, the designer beards and the multi-tattoed bodies. What you do get is high energy, full commitment and honesty. Not for these guys the rolling around in feigned agony; if they stay down, they are hurting.

It was a game of to and fro with the visitors deserving their victory. It appeared that on the day, they seemed to want it more

Apologies for the briefness of my report.
