Dudley Town take the points

⚽West Midlands Regional League  Premier Division⚽

Dudley Town 3 Smethwick Rangers 1

Played at Sporting Khalsa

This game was fairly even for the first twenty minutes with both sides having a couple of chances. From this point on Dudley decided they wanted to win this and they upped the tempo remarkably so it was no surprise really when they took the lead on 32 minutes albeit from the penalty spot and it remained thus with Town well on top and Rangers restricted to the occasional foray into the opposition half.

The second half was barely two minutes old when Town increased their lead following a goalmouth scramble and they were, at times, overwhelming Rangers but credit to the visitors, they refused to buckle under the onslaught and battled for every ball. It was all to no avail,or seemingly so, as Town added a third on 75 minutes with the best goal of the game.Rangers kept going and gained themselves a well-worked consolation goal on 80 minutes.

This was yet another brilliant WMRL game played in good spirit; fair play to both sides for such a good game at this stage of the season.

Sikh Hunters too good for Tipton Town

West Midlands Regional League

Division 1 League Cup           Played at Tipton Sports Academy

Tipton Town 0  Sikh Hunters 4

I don't feel like I should say too much about this game ; suffice to say Tipton, although giving everything they could, were well beaten by the better side on the day.

We've been attending and enjoying non-league football for nearly 7 years and have always appreciated the fact we see very little of the cynical side of the pro game at this level. That is beginning to change;we've seen it twice in the last month. Managers/coaches vociferously berating the officials; players surrounding the ref when a free kick is awarded against them;instances of players nearly coming to blows(although tbf this particular trait isn't new). It's not nice and it's beginning to spoil the non-league game.
