Tividale too hot to handle.

⚽West Midlands Regional League Premier Division⚽

Acoustafoam Stadium

Shifnal Town 0 Tividale 5

Our first visit of the season to Shifnal Towns' revamped stadium and the hosts were up against it from the word go as Tivi netted the first of their nap hand in the 4th minute. At this early stage the visitors already look destined for loftier status and try as they might,Shifnal were fighting a losing battle against such an organised and disciplined outfit. When the referee blew for the interval the hosts already had a 3-0 lead courtesy of their No 10(2 goals) who was a thorn in the side of the home defence.

Shifnal had a much better second half and were unlucky on at least 3 occasions but this did not prevent Tivi adding a further 2 goals.

Shifnal gave it all they had but it was always going to be an uphill battle and as for the visitors, they stretched their lead at the top to 10 points, albeit having played more games than their rivals and are a joy to watch.

Sutton United progress in Cup competition

⚽Birmingham County FA Saturday Vase. Round 1⚽

Gornal Athletic 0 Sutton United 4

The Garden Walk Stadium

Gornals' involvement in this competition came to a shuddering halt at the first hurdle; their opponents Sutton simply being too good on the day.

The first few minutes saw the hosts take the initiative with a couple of promising raids down the right but that was about as bright as their star was to shine as the visitors took hold of the game and never let go of their stranglehold on proceedings. Where passes went astray from the hosts, the visitors were able to stroke the ball around with confidence, rarely giving it away. Try as they might, and they certainly did strain the sinews,Gornal were unable to seriously threaten the Sutton goal. The visitors were too quick and too strong on the day.

With a 3-0 half-time lead it was probably inevitable more goals would follow in the second half and the surprise was there was only one.
Fair play to Gornal, they gave it everything but were up against a much better side on the day.

Sporting Khalsa progress in Buildbase FA Vase

              ⚽ Buildbase FA Vase  1st Round Proper⚽

The Aspray Arena

Sporting Khalsa 1 Winsford Utd 0

Sporting Khalsa moved into the 2nd round of this competition with this result. Their opponents gave a decent account of themselves but to be fair, were beaten by the better side on the day . The realistic chance of any kind of football being played was at the mercy of the windy conditions and to be honest, the first half was largely forgettable.

The second half was much better with the hosts upping their tempo and getting to grips with the windy conditions to score on 55 minutes and the visitors being pushed to the limit to contain them;indeed as the minutes ticked by so did Khalsa increase the pressure on their opponents and were unlucky on a couple of occasions. Winsford mounted a valiant final throw of the dice in the latter stages of the game but they never looked convincing and ultimately Khalsa deserved their win.
