Straight from the off, the visitors were on the front foot and Casuals were finding it difficult to mount any sort of attacking momentum, so it was no surprise on 20 minutes when Alsager took the lead albeit via comical circumstances. From a corner,the ball came in very low and ended in the back of the net. It was credited to Finlay Jackson⚽. This,apparently, was just what Casuals needed as they seemed to up their game immediately and within 10 minutes they were level with a superb effort from Jonathan Letford who turned and beat 2 defenders before slotting the ball home in the far corner⚽. The game continued with the hosts having the better of it and but for some wayward efforts would have been leading.
The second half began with Alsager seemingly content to absorb pressure and hit Casuals on the break but that plan failed to materialise and on 61 minutes Charlie Swingwood nodded home a second⚽. It was mostly all one way now with Casuals hunting a third and it came on 81 minutes with a second goal from the impressive Letford⚽. This seemed to knock the stuffing out of the visitors and on 91minutes a fourth goal was added via a penalty from Kyri Kourouyianni⚽.
Casuals deserved their win for coming back strongly from an early setback while Alsager seemed to tire visibly towards the end.
