Sporting Khalsa too ghood for Darlaston.

 17/10/2026

  ⚽Midland Football League Premier Division⚽

Sporting Khalsa 1  Darlaston Town 0

                                                                                            Guardian Warehouse Arena,Noose Lane

Being a local derby, this game had it all(nearly !) From the off, it was 100 mph action from both sides,no quarter asked and none given, crunching(but fair) tackles and that most important of ingredients....needle(of which there was bucket loads). The two benches didn't help things by shouting and gesturing about every tackle. On the pitch, the players produced an exhilarating display that was always on the edge of blowing up and apart from the odd disagreement here and there, things stayed relatively calm. Khalsa always looked the better of the pair with Darlaston relying on a physical defensive approach which was effective up to a point but never really threatened a goal. Khalsa did threaten a goal and achieved just that on 33 minutes when their number 18 swivelled in the area and somehow squeezed the ball through 2 defenders and the keeper ; an excellent goal⚽.

Following the break the visitors improved and saw a lot more of the ball but the outcome was always the same ; they would win the ball in midfield, make their way to the edge of the area and then...nothing.

Khalsa deserved their  win, they always looked in control. Darlaston put up a good fight but they lack anyone up front to put the ball away.

Bilston Town too strong for spirited Crewe.

10/10/2026

North West Counties Football League  1st Div South

                   Bilston Town 2  Crewe 0

Bilston Town Football Club - Google Maps

For the first 30 minutes there was little to separate these two,Bilston  shading it by looking the more threatening but as the half progressed it was the hosts imposing themselves.

Following the break it was a different story as the hosts took control. Fair play to the visitors who showed a spirited defence but something had to give sooner or later and on the hour mark Dixon could'nt believe his luck when, from a corner, everyone missed the cross and he was left to tap in for the hosts. fifteen minutes later it was 2-0 as Dixon latched onto a ball over the top, beat the defender and keeper shooting into the far corner ; smashing goal.

Bilston deserved the points, they looked far more threatening than the visitors who desperately need someone up front who can do something because at the moment they havve no cutting edge whatsoever.

Bilbrook stage a great fightback to win.

 19/09/2026

          ⚽West Midlands Regional League⚽

Bilbrook 3  Tipton Town 2

                                                                                                       Played at Pendeford Lane Stadium

Tipton were quick out of the blocks and took the lead in the 9th minute⚽ and from then on Bilbrook were marginally the better side,  having a goal denied for off-side but nothing else to show for their endeavours, which were considerable. Approaching the break they were one on one with the Tipton keeper who somehow won the battle, hoofed the ball down the field and number 9 was on the spot to tap home for a second⚽.

Following the break, the hosts continued in the same vein, plenty of running, effort and commitment with no end result ; that is,until the 75th minute when from a goalmouth scramble, they scored⚽ and  5 minutes later they were level. A free kick on the left was nodded in and things looked interesting⚽. It was now all Bilbrook and you just knew they would get a third which duly arrived a couple of minutes from the end, via a penalty⚽.

Tipton didn't do anything wrong, they were just beaten by the better side on the day. Once Bilbrook got up a head of steam, they looked unstoppable.

Wolves Casuals progress in FA Vase.

 12/09/2026

                             ⚽ FA Vase ⚽

Wolverhampton Casuals 3  Studley 1

                                                                                                               Played at Brinsford Stadium

Studley( the bulk of which were 16-17 year olds), played their part in this highly entertaining game. They more than held their own against Casuals bigger, seasoned players, defending well, building their attacks confidently through midfield but eventually failing where it mattered most...in front of goal. Time and again they passed their way towards the opposition goal until meeting the brick wall that was Casuals defence. Casuals, on the other hand had 3 or 4 really good efforts but the Studley keeper pulled off some incredible saves.

Experience eventually told on 68 minutes when, following a corner, number 14 poked the ball in⚽, adding a second 5 minutes later following a superb parry from the keeper, bundling the ball in⚽. The visitors kept going but just 3 minutes later the game was all but settled when number 5(Kirk) added a third⚽. The visitors did manage a consolation goal on 91 minutes with a tap-in⚽.

Casuals deserved their win because they always looked likely to score whereas Studley played some really nice football but rarely looked threatening in front of goal.
