For a pre-season friendly this was a cracking game and Wulfrunians can feel justly proud of claiming this scalp albeit from a team probably containing some trialists. Apart from the opening minutes Northern Premier League side Town were below par and the home team thoroughly deserved their victory; indeed,following a raft of second-half substitutions they enjoyed the lions' share of possession. Town briefly shone when they reduced the deficit to 2-1 but the home side were in no mood to yield their advantage and a late free kick restored their two-goal lead.This display from Wulfrunians augers well for the season ahead while it was difficult to assess Town as this was obviously not their full first team.
